Zermatt is known for its long runs, some of which end right in the village - you can literally ski home. The Matterhorn Glacier Ride, which opened for the 2019 season, is the world highest 3S cableway and carries 2,000 skiers an hour to the glacier. At an altitude of 3,883 meters, the glacier makes year-round skiing possible.
